The Jasper Chair — sculptural White Teak (Khamari) dining chair

The Jasper Chair

A Study in Form
and Function

The Jasper Chair emerged from a simple question: how much structure can you remove before a chair ceases to feel safe? The answer, we found, lies not in the absence of material but in the precision of its placement.

Every curve in The Jasper serves a dual purpose — it is simultaneously structural and sculptural. The backrest follows the natural curvature of the spine, while the seat is subtly scooped from a single plank to cradle the body.

Design Philosophy
"The joint is where honesty lives. In a world of hidden fasteners and veneered surfaces, we choose to make the connection visible — because the strength of a bond should never be concealed."

The Details

The Tenon

Each joint uses a floating tenon — a separate piece of matching Khamari that bridges two components. Twin Khamari pins lock the tenon in place without glue, allowing the wood to expand and contract with the seasons.

The Grain

We select quartersawn White Teak (Khamari) for its fine, even grain and exceptional stability. Each board is chosen for both structural integrity and visual character — no two chairs share the same grain story.

The Finish

Seven coats of Danish oil are applied by hand over 21 days. Each coat is rubbed in with the grain, then left to cure for 72 hours. The result is a surface that feels alive — warm to the touch and deepening with age.
